Chris began his career as a surety underwriter with Fidelity & Deposit in 1995 following his graduation from Whittier College. He underwrote for three different surety companies before joining Downey & Company in 2001. This dual background allows him to expertly navigate the nuances of the surety relationship. He firmly believes the underwriting process is a powerful mechanism for building and strengthening construction firms. As an active industry advocate, Chris is the First Vice President of the National Association of Surety Bond Producers (NASBP) Executive Committee and will be the National President in 2027-2028. He serves on the board of CFMA Albuquerque and is a past President of ABC New Mexico (ABCNM)
